Recruitment Scam Warning Signs
Job seekers should treat unexpected offers and urgent payment requests carefully. A polished message, logo, or interview invitation does not by itself prove that an opportunity is genuine.
Warning signs
- A request for money for a visa, interview, medical test, training, or guaranteed placement.
- Requests for passwords, banking details, or unnecessary identity documents.
- Pressure to act immediately or communicate only through an unofficial account.
- A salary or job title that is unrealistic for the stated work.
- Links that imitate a company name or use suspicious domains.
How to verify
Find the employer’s official website independently, compare the vacancy with its careers page, and contact the organization through an official channel. Do not rely only on the phone number or link supplied in an unsolicited message.
